As Show Control Technician- Walt Disney Theater, you will manage the operation and maintenance of all Show Control elements at the Walt Disney Theater for our Broadway/West End Style Musical Theater Production Shows. You will install, set up and operate all Show Control Systems and equipment while providing guidance to the Stage Lighting/Special Effects Technician.

You will report to Senior Technician WDT 

Level: Officer 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation and maintenance of all Walt Disney Theater Show Control elements including intelligent and generic lighting, video projection and control systems, pyrotechnic and special effects systems and other devices
  • Install, set-up and operate all Show Control Systems and equipment
  • Test, maintain and fire the Pyrotechnic and Laser systems in the Walt Disney Theatre and for outdoor deck parties
  • Maintain the proper stock of show consumables.
  • Provide direction to the Stage Lighting/Special Effects Technician for the maintenance of all show control equipment
  • Be an important contributor to the WDT Theater Team with responsibilities for load in and load outs, Cast changeovers, new show installations, equipment tests, vendor support, movie premiers and company events

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years show production experience in a similar role, preferably as a Master Electrician, Chief Electrician, or Show Control Systems operator
  • Experience with the programming, operation and maintenance of sophisticated theatre lighting systems, including moving lights
  • Proficiency with video projection systems, theatrical special effects, computerized show control systems, show controllers, AMX and hard disk playback systems
  • Experience with grandMA lighting consoles, SMPTE time code or MIDI controlled equipment
  • Can work at height with heavy equipment

This is a shipboard role

You must:

  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
  • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
  • Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
  • If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations
Your Responsibilities:
  • Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
  • Complete a pre-employment medical
  • Obtain a criminal background check
  • Bring approved work shoes
