Job Description

Senior Full Stack Developer needed for a large US-based retail company to modernize, maintain, and develop their eCommerce platform. Responsibilities include migrating the client platform, developing new features in Java and Kotlin for Spring Boot Microservices, improving personalized search, modernizing data ingestion, ensuring cloud readiness with Azure APIM and Gateway, and collaborating with other teams. The project involves new brand onboarding, re-architecture, database migrations, and microservice migration to a unified cloud-native solution. The ideal candidate will have strong Java/Kotlin, Spring/SpringBoot, JavaScript (including Vue.js), and database experience. Familiarity with microservices, containers (Kubernetes), Agile/DevOps, and enterprise architecture patterns is essential.

Must have:

5+ years exp. in front-end and back-end
Strong Java/Kotlin, Spring/SpringBoot
Strong JavaScript (3+ yrs Vue.js)
SQL/PostgreSQL, static web assets
Enterprise app architecture patterns
Distributed systems & Microservices
Containers & Orchestration (Kubernetes)
Agile & DevOps culture

Good to have:

Experience with US clients
React.js
Kafka/RabbitMQ, caching (Hazelcast/Redis)
Hybrid cloud experience

Project description

The primary goal of the project is the modernization, maintenance and development of an eCommerce platform for a big US-based retail company, serving millions of omnichannel customers each week.

Solutions are delivered by several Product Teams focused on different domains - Customer, Loyalty, Search and Browse, Data Integration, Cart.

Current overriding priorities are new brands onboarding, re-architecture, database migrations, migration of microservices to a unified cloud-native solution without any disruption to business.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer who can help to perform migration of client platform:

Quickly onboard to Customer's processes

Develop new features in Java and Kotlin for Spring Boot Microservices, as well as maintain existing ones

Improve Personalized Search

Modernize Data Ingestion for faster searching and indexing

Ensure Cloud Readiness and integration of Azure APIM and Gateway

Collaborate with other teams and client to find the best solutions

Skills

Must have

Readiness to work until 8.00 pm CET

At least 5 years' work experience including front-end and back-end experience

Strong knowledge of Java/Kotlin language

Strong knowledge of Spring/SpringBoot

Strong in JavaScript, 3+ years of experience

Experience in Vue.js

Familiarity with databases (SQL/PostgreSQL), serving static web assets, and U/UX design

Deep understanding of enterprise application architecture patterns

Experience with distributed systems

Familiar with microservice architecture patterns

Familiar with Containers and Orchestration Systems (Kubernetes/PKS/OpenShift)

Adoption of Agile and DevOps culture

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

Experience of work in distributed teams, with US customers

Experience in React.js

Experience in working with Kafka/Rabbit and caching (Hazelcast/Redis)

Experience in a hybrid cloud environment or willing to learn new techniques and approaches
