The Data & Insights team is on a mission to set up a scalable environment, which includes enabled teams, high quality data products, deep business/consumer understanding and data driven content creation.

As our Senior Data Engineer, you will join our Data Platform & AI team where you will amplify the value that our company derives from our data by building and maintaining our data architecture, building and optimizing our data collection flows, and enhancing our data quality and reliability.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Collaboration and support: you will work closely with other data professionals and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide the required data
Building and optimizing data pipelines: you will design, implement and operate ETL and ELT pipelines to enable other data professionals to build impactful dashboards and machine learning models on top of your data
Ensuring data quality and consistency: you will implement data validation checks in your ETL jobs, promote data quality within our team and the company, and support data contract negotiations
Building and maintaining data and ML APIs: you will design, implement and operate APIs that expose data sets and machine learning predictions to downstream use cases
Coaching and mentoring: you will mentor other data engineers and help them grow in their role

What we are looking for:

Engineering mindset: you are used to following software engineering and devops practices like automated testing, monitoring, alarming, coding principles (e.g. DRY, KISS), code reviews etc.
Professional experience: you have 5+ years of experience working as a data engineer building and maintaining data architectures
Business acumen: you have an interest in the bigger picture, aiming to understand how your work is helping the business and how you can maximize your impact
Tool experience: you have extensive working experience with the modern data stack, i.e. ELT, and can quickly become productive with our tools (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran) and environment (on premise, AWS)
Programming experience: your Python and SQL code is on expert level, i.e. comprehensive, well tested, easy to read, and highly efficient; documentation of the entire development process is a must for you
People skills: you make it a habit to continuously improve your work and your collaboration with your colleagues, care deeply for the experience of your users, are highly effective when working autonomously, and value feedback highly
