Job Description

N-iX seeks a Senior Data Engineer to enhance their European online car market platform. Responsibilities involve simplifying existing tools, improving modularity, addressing technical debt, proposing improvements, participating in team discussions, and driving initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with senior engineers, product managers, and engineering managers. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of software engineering experience, expertise in AWS services (Glue, Athena), proficiency in Python, PySpark, GCP SQL, Airflow, and data streaming frameworks (Kafka or Firehose). Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data platforms is essential. Strong data modeling skills and upper-intermediate English are also required.

Must have:

5+ years software engineering experience
AWS (Glue, Athena), Python, PySpark expertise
GCP SQL, Airflow, Kafka/Firehose proficiency
Data pipeline & platform building experience
Data modeling best practices
Upper-Intermediate+ English

About the project:

Our customer is the European online car market with over 30 million monthly users, with a market presence in 18 countries. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of online car markets and enhancing the user experience for millions of car buyers and sellers.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in software engineering
Expertise in AWS services, especially Glue, Athena
Proficiency in Python, PySpark, GCP
SQL, Airflow, data streaming frameworks (Kafka or Firehose)
Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines
Experience in building data platforms, not just using them
Proficiency in data modeling techniques and best practices
English - Upper-Intermediate+
Ukrainian language - Advanced or higher.

Responsibilities:

Simplify existing tools, make them more modular, work with technical debt
Propose improvements, be actively involved in team discussions and decision-making, drive initiatives
Work closely with a team of Senior Engineers, Product Manager and Engineering Manager
