ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Data Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for all critical aspects of governing, collecting, transforming & provisioning data used to drive R&D activities within Virtuos.
- Driving the process of creating and distributing relevant policies and procedures
- Co-operation with members from different departments to automate the data collection & transformation process, and improve the efficiency of production throughout projects;
- Identification of data components necessary to support R&D projects and governing their full lifecycle
- Supporting data activities by developing tools or scripts for the needs of projects;
- Work with every studio in the group to ensure received data is adhering to required standards
- Work with internal teams (R&D, TechArt, IT) to build and manage technical pipeline responsible for storage and transformation of the data
- Maintain a good general knowledge of the production pipelines and tools and provide up-to-date documentation on workflow methods, pipeline systems within a centralised accessible location;
- Collaborate with partner studios to share technology and best practices;
- Graduates from computer science, management or related majors;
- Basic knowledge of programming languages;
- Ability to analyze problems and quickly deploy effective solutions;
- Willingness and ability to write document, scripts and maintain tools;
- Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills;
- A rigorous and structured approach with strong problem-solving skills;
- A proactive attitude and resourceful nature;
- Technical competency in understanding the intricacies of pipelines and production tools and the ability to identify bottlenecks or other avenues for improvement;
- Experience in managing large sets of unstructured data (e.g. images, videos)
- An interest in safekeeping and organizing data with strong work ethics around this.
- Previous experience in game development, especially in data management & Art related workflows
- Experience on software used in AAA pipelines as well as version control software such as Perforce, Subversion
- Experiences in data engineering for data lake/ data warehouse for both on-premise and cloud
- Passion and enthusiasm for machine & deep learning
