The Automated Conversion and Document Creation (ACDC) team at Springer Nature, Pune is responsible for delivering solutions related to Journals and Production Systems for Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM Publishers) and Education Publishers around the globe. Our teams incorporate the latest technologies to streamline and automate manuscript submission processes (Peer Review process), production workflows, and maintain metadata for our customers; this helps our customers to continuously improve their business response time and revenue stream. Every project is implemented in a distributed agile environment while continuously collaborating with customers stationed at various locations around the world.

Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Location: Pune

About The Role

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for validating and ensuring the correctness of the automated converted output of the manuscript against defined guidelines and protocols.

Role Responsibilities:

• Should be capable of creating maintaining XML files independently
• Knowledge of MathML is a must!
• Should have hands on experience in manual coding for front matter, back matter and references part in xml
• Should have hands on experience in Journal/Book coding
• Base Knowledge in Image and Text extraction software (e.g. Photoshop, GIMP)
• Should be capable of Validating and Ensuring the correctness of the output package before dispatch of the file.
• Responding and managing solution for the complaints filed in QIRA system by different Springer user group
• Investigating the root cause of problems and recording it for future reference
• Explaining the complexity/process involved in handing those complaints to project stakeholders through email/call
• Coordinating with external vendors, other technical group and production editors to resolve issues
• Attending conference call with business partners to discuss issue/suggestion/progress
• Working on XML QC project to suggest improvements to the development team
• Should have Worked with Epsilon, Notepad++
  
  

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Any Graduate

Experience: 2+ years of Experience in publication domain

• Experience with academic journal manuscript workflow.
• Experience with assessment of manuscript compliance with editorial policies.
• Experience in a fast-paced remote office environment is preferred.
  
  

Technical Skills:

Good knowledge of HTML, XML, DTD, MS office.

Experience with Copy Editing and XML Expertise.

In-design Knowledge, Photoshop (Image Processing.

Communication:

Good command of English.
