Job Description

Tesla is seeking a Process Mechanics for its Injection Molding department at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. This role involves supporting Process Engineers in establishing, implementing, and continuously optimizing injection molding processes and workspaces for Model Y production. Responsibilities include developing optimal workflows for a safe and ergonomic environment, troubleshooting and problem-solving, implementing optimization measures, creating standard operating procedures, participating in setup and changeover processes, contributing to prototype construction, and training employees on new workflows. The ideal candidate possesses a professional education in injection molding (preferably automotive industry experience), several years of experience in optimizing injection molding processes, experience with Lean Production, and proficiency in using fixtures and quality measurement tools. Strong German and basic English language skills are also required.

What to Expect

We are looking for Process Mechanics to work in our injection molding department. You will support our Process Engineers in setting up, implementing, and continuously improving optimal processes and workplaces. You will be a key factor in the production of our injection-molded parts for the new Model Y, which will be the first to roll off the production line in our Gigafactory.

What You’ll Do

You will work with the team to develop and implement optimal processes and workflows to ensure a safe and ergonomic working environment for our injection molding team, and support Process Engineers in implementing and improving processes.
You will assist in troubleshooting and resolving problems, as well as implementing optimization measures.
You will contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and workflows for product launches and product changes, and be heavily involved in prototype construction.
You will participate in setup and changeover processes.
You will support the training of new workflows and train employees.
You are passionate about continuous improvement and enjoy bringing new ideas to the table.

What You’ll Bring

You have a professional education in the field of injection molding or a comparable qualification, preferably from the automotive industry.
You have several years of experience in setting up, optimizing, and improving injection molding processes.
Certificates in injection molding or process technologies are desirable
You have experience in process optimization, for example, Lean Production.
You have experience working with fixtures and quality measurement tools.
You have a hands-on mentality and are willing to work in a 4-shift system.
You have good German language skills and basic English skills.
