Description

The Professional Services (PS) team delivers post-sales services to Gigamon’s customers and partners with our technology and service solutions for positive business outcomes.  Working for the Professional Services team, the Principal PS Automation Engineer is responsible for identifying and optimizing deployment alternatives for our network visibility solutions, security guidance, and other relevant services.
 
We measure our success by accelerating end-user time to value, customer satisfaction, delivery quality, and expanded use of our technology.  This position will focus on automating and optimizing our post-sales implementation solutions, practices, and processes.
 
What you will do:
The Gigamon Professional Services Automation Engineer responsibilities include the following:
  • Provide advanced technical expertise to lead the discovery, definition, and application of tools for automation of visibility fabric network design, system design, deployment, operation, and usability for our products.
  • Define and apply automated deployment processes for network visibility and security solutions for Gigamon end-users to improve our design and deployment practice success and efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship throughout Gigamon on deployment and maintenance automation, optimization, and DevOps as related to network visibility and information security deployment, operation, and usability.
  • Identify opportunities to exploit existing and prospective solutions, as well as review applicable of network visibility use-cases, security policies and procedures with the business.
  • Work closely with system architects to ensure business systems and applications meet security requirements in preparation for the end-user review; participate and contribute in Gigamon internal reviews.
  • Work closely with Gigamon and end-user technical teams to ensure developed tools, systems and applications meet appropriate security standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with other technical network visibility and security team members on policy compliance efforts in accordance with Gigamon, industry privacy and security regulations, and guidelines set forth by, Country, Federal and local laws, as applicable.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in operational design and deployment of network management tools/application in wide scale networking and/or virtualized networking with at least 5 years of experience in building automation platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of network/element management in mobile networks.
  • Good at test automation and scripting skills (Python or equivalent)
  • Hand-on experience in any of the test automation framework/tools (Robot, Ansible, Terraform, Pytest).
  • Working knowledge of current virtualization software, tools, protocols, and standards, including vCenter, VMware ESXi/NSX-T, Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Working experience with REST APIs, practical application of SDKs is a plus.
  • Good knowledge in TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, IPv4, IPv6, QoS/CoS, SDN, NFV, SNMP.
  • Demonstrated success in leading technical initiatives without formal authority.
  • Effective working with virtual teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations with various key stakeholders and executives.
  • Ability to understand the risks and associated methods to recommend, implement and/or apply appropriate security controls.
  • Strongly desired - In-depth knowledge of security defense principles – confidentiality, integrity, and availability – and how they apply to different technologies.
  • Strongly desired - Practical Knowledge of Cybersecurity / Information Security standards and policies such as ISO 27001/27002, CIS, NIST, and others.
