Job Description

YouTube's Business Compliance Operations (BCO) team is looking for a Payment Assurance Specialist to manage and execute audit processes for royalty payments. This role involves leading cross-functional teams from Engineering, Partnerships, and Legal to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Responsibilities include assessing existing payment processes, pulling data and performing analysis from various systems, coordinating efforts for external audit requests, making recommendations for improvements to internal controls and governance processes, and ensuring the successful delivery of audit results. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of YouTube's payment ecosystem.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5 years of data analyst experience
Experience with SQL queries
Music industry royalty audit experience
Experience presenting data analysis
Strong project management skills

Good to have:

Experience developing business plans from data
Experience in consulting, data analytics, or business intelligence
Experience working with external auditors
Ability to present to executives and clients

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in a data analyst role or querying, troubleshooting databases, and writing SQL queries.
Experience conducting music industry royalty audits or agreement compliance analysis.
Experience explaining and presenting data analysis to cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience developing actionable business plans from large amounts of unfiltered data.
Experience in consulting, data analytics, or business intelligence.
Experience working with external auditors.
Ability to present ideas and recommendations to executives, business partners, clients, and cross-functional teams.
Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.

YouTube's Business Compliance Operations (BCO) team contributes significantly in ensuring that our YouTube processes and ecosystem are healthy, optimized for efficiency and compliant with Google standards. We support projects on a wide range of cross functional efforts such as deals, contracts, and payment operations.

As a Payment Assurance Specialist, you are the engagement manager taking responsibility for the success of YouTube’s audit processes and execution. You drive our cross-functional effort to scale royalty audit operations and deliver exceptional experience to our partners conducting the audit. You will lead cross-functional teams from Engineering, Partnerships, and Legal to enable audit execution, define scope of the audit, explain how YouTube business processes and systems work, gather data requests, follow-up on additional questions, validate findings, and perform data analysis to understand global impact. Work as part of a team to identify, design, develop, and document controls, systems, and analytics that will support audit testing, continuous auditing, continuous monitoring, automation, and quality assessment systems of complex payment flows.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $106,000-$156,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Assess existing payment processes to identify payment audit ability and contractual audit requirements.
Pull data and perform analysis from various systems to address and satisfy data requests.
Lead cross-functional meetings to ensure that the scope of audit and data align with internal policy and procedures.
Coordinate efforts, technical ownership, and functional ownership of external audit requests.
Make recommendations on how to improve internal controls and governance processes.
