We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking manager to lead a small but impactful team dedicated to optimizing how our UX Design organization works. You will play a key role in enhancing our workflows, championing innovative tools, and driving collaboration across disciplines.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, you’ll directly manage a team and serve as a key advocate for the development and adoption of tools and processes that empower the broader design organization.
Understand and improve how the design team collaborates internally and with other disciplines such as writing, engineering, QA, and product management.
Communicate workflows and processes clearly across the organization, drive their adoption, and continuously refine them based on feedback.
Champion accessibility best practices within UX and serve as an advocate for accessibility in engineering, QA, and product teams.
Stay informed about the latest developments in UX tools, particularly in accessibility and AI. Identify opportunities to incorporate new techniques and tools sensibly and effectively.
Partner with internal teams to drive the development of custom tools, as well as integrations or extensions for third-party tools.
Advocate for the adoption of no-code UX prototyping methods across your team and the broader design organization.
Prioritize the development and well-being of your team through thoughtful hiring, retention strategies, performance management, and coaching.
You thrive at the intersection of design and process, and are passionate about building systems that improve how teams collaborate and create. You balance strategic thinking with operational execution and excel at empowering individuals to grow and succeed in their roles.
Proven experience as a people manager in a design team working on diverse projects.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts and rationale clearly and persuasively to varied audiences.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and other cross-functional partners to deliver effective solutions.
Familiarity with no-code prototyping tools, workflow optimization, and tool integration in a UX environment.
Experience driving accessibility initiatives in design and development processes is a strong plus.
Knowledge of emerging trends in AI tools and techniques is a plus.
Japanese language experience is a big plus.
While SIE has a flexible in-office culture, this is not a fully remote role. Regular in-person collaboration is expected, including occasional travel.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$161,400 - $242,200 USD
