The Italy Cultural Representative Program is a 12-month paid internship at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Participants authentically represent Italian culture and traditions in a Merchandise role at Epcot's World Showcase. Responsibilities include greeting guests, selling merchandise (including alcohol and tobacco), cash handling, stocking shelves, and potentially food preparation. The role involves proactive guest interaction, fulfilling various customer-facing tasks, and potentially handling stroller/wheelchair rentals. Successful candidates will be fluent in English, at least 18 years old, and fully available to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. An in-person interview in Italy is required.

Job Summary:

The Cultural Representative Program is a twelve-month work experience located at Walt Disney World® Resort, near Orlando, Florida. It is an opportunity to be immersed in different cultures from around the world and build lifelong relationships.

Participants need to be able to authentically represent and showcase the distinctive cultures and traditions of one of the countries or regions we have recreated in look and ambiance at the Walt Disney World® Resort. They will also be interacting with people from across the globe and crafting immersive experiences for our guests, while fulfilling various front-line, customer-facing roles!

Countries and regions represented are: Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, Southeast Asia (India, Indonesia, Thailand), Sub-Saharan Africa (Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe), and United Kingdom.


Accepting applications for Merchandise positions that will start in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 for a 12-month program.

Responsibilities:

Our Italy Cultural Representatives will be placed in a Merchandise role. Below is the description for this position.
Epcot World Showcase - Merchandise:
  • Proactively greeting and interacting with every Guest that enters or leaves the shops
  • Demonstrating and selling merchandise (including alcohol and tobacco) in indoor and outdoor areas
  • Filling orders, preparing and assembling food items
  • Cash handling - manual and using computerized registers
  • Stocking and cleaning shelves and carts
  • Receiving/putting away stock and deliveries
  • Stroller/wheelchair rental – including repetitive lifting, stacking and pushing strollers and wheelchairs
  • Preparation of food/candy
  • Preparing packages for shipping/delivery
  • Possible prolonged exposure to weather conditions

Basic Qualifications:

To be eligible to apply for the Italy Cultural Representative Program, you MUST:
  • Speak English fluently.
  • Be at least 18 years of age to apply.
  • Be able to authentically represent Italy.
  • Be receptive to guidelines.
  • Be fully available to work Sunday through Saturday, including days and nights, holidays and overtime.
All candidates (including former Cast Members) are required to attend an in-person presentation and interview in Italy.

Former Cultural Representative Program participants must wait 15 months from your most recent program end date to apply for a new Cultural Representative Program.

Additional Information:

Pay rate: Cast Members will earn an hourly rate of pay starting at $18.00 per hour depending on the role they are selected to perform.
