Tencent seeks a dynamic HR Generalist & Culture Intern to support HR and culture initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in HR operations and culture development, including employee engagement activities. Responsibilities include onboarding/offboarding, planning and executing employee engagement initiatives (team-building, wellness programs, recognition events), assisting with training operations (liaison with stakeholders, logistics), maintaining HR databases and organizational charts, gathering HR metrics, and preparing internal communications. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Bilingualism (English/Mandarin) is a plus.
Must have:
  • Onboarding/Offboarding new employees
  • Planning & executing employee engagement initiatives
  • Assisting with training operations and logistics
  • Maintaining HR databases and organizational charts
  • Preparing internal communications materials
  • Degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field
Good to have:
  • Prior HR internship experience
  • Bilingual (English/Mandarin)

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated HR Generalist & Culture Intern to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting our human resources and culture initiatives. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of HR operations and culture development where you will have exposure to co-creating various employee engagement related activities during your internship with us.

We are looking for someone to either commence immediately/within short notice or in January 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in onboarding new employees, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition for them in o the organization as well as offboarding activities
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of employee engagement and culture-building initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive work environment including team-building activities, local festivals, wellness programs, and recognition events
  • Assist in training operations including the liaison with internal and external stakeholders, training administration and logistics preparation and facilitation
  • Play an active role in maintaining and updating HR databases, employee records, and organizational charts
  • Assist in gathering HR metrics and data to support reporting and analysis of HR trends and performance
  • Prepare internal communications material including but not limited to EDMs and posters

Who We Look For

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, ideally with prior HR internship experiences
  • Strong interest in HR management, organizational culture, and employee relations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Positive attitude, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
  • Ability to communicate bilingually (English / Mandarin) to work with both international stakeholders and China HQ based teammates will be a huge plus
