Rockstar New England is seeking talented Graphics Programmers passionate about creating visually stunning and engaging games. Responsibilities include developing and enhancing graphics technologies (rendering, lighting, shadows, shaders, etc.), collaborating with programmers to integrate technologies and identify improvements, and occasionally mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate will have experience with C/C++, HLSL or other shader languages, 3D graphics APIs (Direct3D, OpenGL, Vulkan), performance optimization, debugging graphics pipelines, and multithreaded programming. Experience working with large code bases and collaborating with artists and designers is essential. The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within a supportive and creative environment.
Must have:
  • C/C++ programming
  • HLSL or other shader language
  • 3D graphics APIs (Direct3D, OpenGL, Vulkan)
  • Performance optimization
  • Debugging graphics pipelines
  • Multithreaded programming
Good to have:
  • Shipped title (Xbox/Playstation)
  • Modern ray tracing APIs (DXR, NVX)
  • Experience with PIX, Razor CPU/GPU, Tuner, Vtune

This is a permanent full-time position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in Andover, MA.

WHAT WE DO

  • We develop cutting-edge graphics and visual effect systems, working together with other departments to create optimal, attractive solutions for our games.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop new and enhance existing graphics technologies (rendering, lighting, shadows, shaders, culling, scene management and others) to help achieve state-of-the-art visuals.
  • Work closely with the rest of the programming team to assist in integrating graphics technologies, identify extensions to that technology, and help create those improvements.
  • Occasional mentoring of more junior members of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Computer Science / related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of PC or console graphics development experience.

SKILLS

  • Experience with C/C++ programming
  • Experience with HLSL or other vendor specific shader programming language.
  • Experience with 3D graphics APIs (Direct3D 11+, OpenGL, Vulkan and/or vendor specific).
  • Experience optimizing both performance factors and memory footprints using hardware and software profilers (PIX, Razor CPU/GPU, Tuner, Vtune, etc.).
  • Experience debugging graphics pipelines using relevant platform tooling (Renderdoc, Pix, Razor GPU, etc.).
  • Experience with multithreaded programming.
  • Experience working with large code bases.
  • Ability to work with artists, designers and other content creators to make sure they can get the most out of the technology.

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

  • At least one shipped title; preferably on the Xbox and/or Playstation consoles.
  • Experience using modern real time ray tracing APIs (DXR, NVX or vendor specific).
  • Passionate about playing and making games.
