The Googler Experience Operations (GXO) Specialist, Tax role ensures Googlers receive seamless support during onboarding and beyond. This involves partnering with stakeholders, resolving complex user issues, and collaborating on initiatives to improve processes and policies. Responsibilities include delivering operational excellence, representing user feedback, developing expertise in HR systems, troubleshooting issues, consulting on system changes, and implementing service delivery improvements. The role requires strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills to navigate a dynamic environment and provide exceptional support to Googlers.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years Tax experience (international employee transfers)
  • 4+ years process design and solution development experience
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Operational excellence and service delivery focus
Good to have:
  • 3+ years Global Mobility/Global Talent Mobility experience
  • Data analysis and decision-making skills
  • APAC and US tax compliance experience
  • Experience with HR systems

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the field of Tax (e.g., tax implications when employees transfer between countries and entities).
  • 4 years of experience with process design, identifying a problem/opportunity and developing a solution.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in Global Mobility/Global Talent Mobility (e.g., a Tax consultant servicing international clients in relation to taxation for mobility requirements).
  • Experience using data to drive decision-making and deriving insights that are useful for influencing business decisions with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Experience with APAC and US tax compliance.
  • Excellent operational mindset to deliver services.
  • Excellent problem-solving, trouble shooting and investigative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including empathy, which are key to supporting sensitive user needs.

Our global team optimizes people processes, from problem definition to execution. We partner with teams across People Operations and in engineering to bring innovation and technology to the way we attract, retain and grow Googlers worldwide. We focus on providing an amazing experience to past, present and future Googlers, and work in Google’s fast-paced environment to deliver 100+ operational services, manage the contingent workforce and implement HR programs across 70+ countries. Regardless of location or level of experience, members of the Operations team have the opportunity to create, develop and implement some of the most complex global operations around the world.

The Googler Experience Operations (GXO) team supports HR Operations, delivering exceptional experiences to our users. This team runs global operations and builds a framework to manage user queries and processes to an exceptional standard. The Googler Experience Operations function relies on metrics and insights to deliver thoughtful workforce planning, make recommendations for program improvements, and deliver consistent and reliable support around the globe.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring Googlers receive support on hires at Google. You will also be partnering with stakeholders in the ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver operational excellence, in line with assigned service goals, identifying opportunities to improve and scale in order to elevate operations to an exceptional standard.
  • Represent user feedback to Partner Support. Collaborate on initiatives to address user needs, including consulting on content, process and policy improvements.
  • Develop expertise in the systems supporting HR Operations service areas, troubleshooting day-to-day issues and consulting with partners on changes to systems infrastructure.
  • Resolve and prioritize complex or sensitive user issues through consultation with vendors and deep collaboration with Global and Regional Process Owners.
  • Implement and execute on service delivery improvements and new process/scope changes, including vendor activities.
