Patreon is a media and community platform where creators give their biggest fans access to exclusive work and experiences. Over 300k creators are cultivating fandoms and building their businesses each month. Creators can offer free memberships to fans looking to explore more of their work, paid memberships to give access to exclusive media and community, or sell directly to fans with Shops.

Ultimately our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we're leaders in that space, with:

  • 8B+ earned since Patreon's inception

  • 30M free new memberships in the first year of launching that option, and

  • 10M fans paying each month for exclusive access to creators' work and community.

We're continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator products with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for an Events & Experiences Manager to support our mission

This role is based in New York or San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the team

The Comms & Experiential teams are responsible for shaping the stories we tell and bringing them to life (both IRL and online). We do that by crafting compelling narratives, producing events that amplify the power of fandoms, shaping and sharing our unique perspective, and connecting with audiences who influence the perception of Patreon. We aim to build cultural relevance, legitimize the creator economy and the staying power of creativity as a career, inspire confidence in the strength of our business, and build trust with our creators by helping them connect with their biggest fans.

About the Role

Patreon is looking for an Events & Experiences Manager to help us bring our dynamic suite of events and programs to life. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Events & Editorial, you will be responsible for turning creative ideas (both big and small) into reality. You’ll work closely with the entire Events & Experiences team and other internal partners, ensuring every detail of our events is executed seamlessly. From intimate members-only events to large-scale events, you will be at the heart of the action, ensuring every attendee leaves with lasting memories and Patreon becomes known for being the most creator-first company in the industry.

You’ll drive core parts of our events strategy from end to end including:

  • Intimate members-only (fans) events, helping us scale this event strategy to creators and fandoms of all sizes.

  • Intimate dinner connections, producing high-touch experiences for our leaders to connect with key audiences like creators, press, and business partners.

You’ll partner with the broader Events & Experiences team to help bring other large programs to life, including: film festivals, creator launch events, our annual company kickoff, and more.

As a production pro, you’re creative, resourceful, and curious. As a driver, you’re scrupulous and quick. As a cross-functional partner, you're collaborative and outcome-focused.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Organizing and updating event documentation, including timelines, project plans, contracts, and schedules.

  • Coordinating cross-functional event planning meetings, ensuring clear meeting notes and action items are shared and updated across the team.

  • Source all necessary vendors and suppliers, confirm contracts and negotiate the best rates, assist with site inspections and venue bookings, secure any necessary permitting, coordinate and manage onsite staff while maintaining the production run-of-show.

  • Monitoring event expenses to ensure budget alignment and ROI.

  • Assisting in collecting and distributing promotional materials and creator assets, managing feedback and approvals.

  • Providing on-site support during event setup, execution, and teardown, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and escalate when necessary.

About you

The ideal person for this job is a strong communicator who is passionate about the Patreon brand, internet culture, and the creator economy. You’re a self-starter who works well in an ever-evolving environment and crushes a to-do list.

You must be an expert connector, as this is a highly collaborative role where you’ll need to partner closely with PR, Marketing, Brand Design & Creative, Social, Legal, and Finance teams.

  • You have exceptional organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Meticulous attention to detail for managing all aspects of events.

  • Quick and efficient problem-solving abilities to handle any issues that arise while staying cool under pressure.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as the event schedule requires.

  • A passion for supporting the creative community and delivering exceptional event experiences.

  • You revel in bringing a brand’s story to life through high-touch and low budget event formats.

  • You consistently meet deadlines, manage up, and occasionally remain available after normal work hours to address any urgent matters.

  • You are a consummate connector and an expert collaborator, who loves to connect the dots in a fast-paced setting.
