We are looking for a Director, Engineering Strategy & Technical Communications to join our fast growing engineering organization and be responsible for ensuring we have a holistic strategy and actionable roadmap for cloud reliability and communicate with our internal and external stakeholders on releases and incidents, and lead key initiatives that drive more customer focus and faster velocity across the R&D organization. Reporting to the VP of Engineering Strategy, Planning & Analytics you will be responsible for:

  • Drive the proper engagement across PM and engineering to ensure we have a holistic plan and roadmap re: our Reliability, Availability, Security, and Stability initiatives.
  • Improve our Trust post process, including templatizing posts, ensuring quality updates are provided in a timely manner, and driving usage by GTM teams and customers.
  • Drive and improve our Root Cause Analysis documents (RCAs) after any incident - be responsible for the completeness, quality, actionability, and sign-off of RCAs shared with customers
  • Program manage key cross-functional priorities spanning across Engineering, Product, and/or Global Customer Success. Program manage and drive follow-through on time-sensitive, critical actions related to incidents, bugs, or overall cloud resilience.
  • Develop a consistent process for how we deliver customer communications for releases, escalations, and executive updates.

What we are looking for (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of experience in leading teams in business operations, process, strategy & planning within more technical domains.
  • Background in Security and/or Networking technologies.
  • Deep expertise in customer-facing roles and in working across cross-functional teams to develop a holistic strategy that enhance customer value.
  • Ability to define a vision and build and rally a team around a shared vision. Clearly articulate challenges and present holistic, thoughtful solutions at the necessary depth across both working teams and senior leadership. Effective translator between technical and business teams. Craft compelling narratives and presentations that effectively communicate progress and impact to both internal and external audiences.

What we are looking for (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Ability to seek out information, solve conceptual problems, corral resources, and lead collective efforts to drive progress.
  • Understanding of high-level business landscape including key strategic priorities and competitive marketplace, with established track record of connecting strategy to execution.
  • Ability to collaborate working across internal and external teams to understand nuances to problems and a knack for bringing people together to drive a single, coordinated effort to solutioning.

This role is preferred to be based at our headquarters in San Jose, CA or in our Bellevue, WA office.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$168,000$240,000 USD
