About the team

You’ll be joining the Release Engineering team's primary mission to provide easy ways for Canva engineers to release their components to the Cloud safely and efficiently. We provide tooling, dashboards, pipelines, and processes that manage the entire Canva product's deployment process. This includes the deployment of backend microservices, frontend web pages, and various other pieces of cloud infrastructure.

We write engineer-facing tooling to perform common deployment related operations, assist in the various deployment operations that occur on a regular basis, give visibility over the status of deployments, and provide safety mechanisms to ensure that bad deployments do not make it into production.

This team falls under the Cloud Platform Group who own Canva’s cloud infrastructure, which ensures the safe, secure and reliable operation of canva.com. We also provide key support for critical internal workflows. The group’s mission is “To reduce the complexity burden of using the Cloud”, which we achieve through a combination of the tooling and services we provide, our robust standards, comprehensive developer documentation library and a team of experts who love a good challenge.

Our platforms support engineers across the company to provision and configure Cloud resources, as well as to manage release, runtime and operational workflows. We do all this in the simplest and most secure way possible. What we create will free engineers from having to worry about what goes on under the hood, allowing them to produce their best work. We are the stewards of a seamless, scalable ecosystem that’s extensible, easy to use, and backed by uncompromising security.

Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard - and we do - but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a range of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.
