Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Creature Animator with 8–9 years of dedicated experience in creature animation for VFX. This is a short-term contract role based in Mumbai. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of realistic creature movement, anatomy, and behaviour, bringing life-like performances to creatures in high-end VFX productions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Animate creatures only (no character or cartoony animation).
- Ensure realistic movement, weight, and anatomy accuracy in creature animations.
- Work closely with animation supervisors and VFX directors to achieve the desired performance and quality.
- Collaborate with rigging and modeling teams to optimize creature rigs for animation.
- Refine animation based on feedback and maintain quality consistency throughout production.
- Troubleshoot animation challenges and provide creative solutions.
Requirements
- 8–9 years of professional experience exclusively in creature animation for VFX.
- Expertise in animating quadrupeds, birds, reptiles, fantasy creatures, and other non-human characters.
- Strong knowledge of biomechanics, physics, and weight distribution in creatures.
- Proficiency in Maya (knowledge of other animation tools is a plus).
- Experience working on high-end VFX films, TV series, or commercials.
- Ability to follow direction and implement feedback efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
