The Content Strategy & Analysis Manager at Warner Bros. Discovery will be responsible for developing and implementing content strategy across the global streaming portfolio. This role involves evaluating content performance, identifying trends, and providing data-driven recommendations to leadership. The position requires strong collaboration with various teams, a high level of detail-orientation, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments. Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end strategies for Northern Europe, UK & EMEA Sports, driving green light analysis for original and acquired titles, developing benchmarking systems, and communicating insights to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience in management consulting, investment banking, or media strategy, and a passion for entertainment.

Your New Role…

As a Manager of Content Strategy & Analysis, you will be joining the team responsible for developing and implementing content strategy across WBD’s global streaming portfolio, evaluating content performance and trends, and providing insights and recommendations to leadership to influence decision making. This role requires a high level of collaboration with partners across WBD – the right person for this role is the kind of person who obsesses over details, thrives in ambiguity, and jumps at the opportunity to take on new challenges. The Manager position will play a key role in supporting relationships across teams and delivering high quality work in one of the highest priority business initiatives at Warner Bros Discovery.

This role plays a crucial part in driving and implementing streaming content strategy in Northern Europe & Sports, as well as managing content performance and analytics, working in close cooperation with top leadership (VP of Original Productions, Acquisitions and GM for the market).

Please note – interviews will take place in January 2025.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Be a crucial part of key content forums in Northern Europe, UK & EMEA Sports, including performance and business reviews, and be the single source of truth for anything content performance in all other cross functional meetings.
  • Reporting directly to the CS&A Director for Northern Europe, UK & EMEA Sports, leading end-to-end strategies for the region and delivering results that will feed into our Global Streaming Strategy.
  • Help lead development of global frameworks and analyses for assessing key strategic questions facing the business, including such areas as:
    • Evaluating how much and what type of content to invest in
    • Identifying content performance indicators and trends
    • Assessing title and portfolio level performance
  • Core driver of green light analysis for original and acquired titles..   
  • Develop and implement benchmarking systems and processes to support analyses and recommendations.
  • Clearly and efficiently communicate to partner with, teach, influence, and/or manage internal stakeholders and external peers based on the work to build the tools and processes necessary to drive strategy and analysis initiatives.
  • Develop strong relationships within partner organizations and support Content and other DTC teams in understanding current performance on the platform, connecting content insights to business opportunity.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of industry trends and competitive activity, becoming an expert on high impact areas.
  • Proactively identify strategic opportunity areas, drive elements of project management of key initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Experience, either in top management consulting, investment banking, private equity, hedge funds and/or Corporate Strategy; ideally experience in a content strategy role in streaming or media and entertainment. 
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Excellent analytical skills and financial modelling capabilities, with a deep attention to detail
  • Superior ability to synthesize the output from analyses, identify the “so-what,” develop early hypotheses, and propose the next line of inquiry.
  • Experience in building executive-level materials, with a keen eye for presentation design, and the ability to distil complex concepts and analyses into clear, easy-to-understand presentations.
  • Possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results, and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.
  • Passion for entertainment, love for content and avid viewer, as well as a passion for staying on top of industry trends while figuring out what the future will look like with a relentless focus on creating and improving consumer value.
  • Collaborative and diplomatic by nature, but also willing to take and defend data- and analysis-backed positions in the ongoing process and dialogue around content selection.
  • Deep knowledge of the UK content and entertainment industry.
Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
