SummaryBy Outscal

Supercell seeks a Community Marketing expert to build and execute strategies promoting entertainment content & experiences. You'll leverage social channels, influencer relationships, and partner collaborations to reach a global audience. Strong experience in community management and marketing with proven success in building trust and relationships across cross-functional teams is essential.

Supercell’s games have been downloaded billions of times and are actively enjoyed by hundreds of millions of monthly players worldwide. To aid in our company mission of having our games played by as many people as possible and remembered forever, we want to build durable, global franchises that can stand toe-to-toe with the most widely and deeply beloved franchises in the world. Our Entertainment & Partnerships (E&P) team is responsible for strengthening our franchises’ place in popular culture, entertaining our existing fans, and attracting new ones -- by creating content, products and experiences that bring our worlds and characters to life in delightful new ways outside of our games.

In this role, you will develop, own, and execute community marketing plans that help promote E&P’s entertainment content, products and experiences to our many loyal fans. You’ll do so by strategically weaving together Supercell’s owned channels (social, PR, and in-game integrations and content), Supercell’s unique group of global influencers, and our entertainment partners’ social / PR channels in fun, innovative and unexpected ways. Whether it’s a plush toy, an action figure, an immersive experience, or a theatrical animated film -- you will play a pivotal role in shining a bright, global light on our entertainment products to make sure fans all around the world know about them.

Responsibilities

  • STRATEGY: build and execute a Community Marketing strategy for E&P products and live experiences to help us maximize their reach and impact
  • SOCIAL CHANNELS: own and execute social media calendars for E&P’s major product launches as well as smaller product releases
  • INTEGRATED COMMS: create, own and execute integrated communications plans to launch our entertainment products in partnership with Supercell’s Comms team
  • SOCIAL BRAND DIALOGUE: engage with partner brands and their Social communities in service of E&P’s products
  • PARTNERS: work with our external entertainment partners to execute co-marketing and coordinate with their Social / Comms
  • CONTENT CREATORS: partner with our carefully-cultivated group of external creators in ways that help them serve and build their own audiences, while also shining a spotlight on E&P products
  • IN-GAME INTEGRATIONS: partner with our Game Community Managers and Game Developers to develop and promote delightful in-game experiences, from “cosmetics” and seasonal themed content to special, custom gameplay modes and more
  • VOICE OF THE COMMUNITY: be the voice of the community within the E&P team and represent the player perspective
  • DIRECT COMMUNITY INPUT: engage directly with our massive global community of players to give them a voice in shaping our entertainment strategy and products (fan contests and voting, seeking input, etc)

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in Community Management and Marketing
  • Very adept and comfortable building trust and relationships across cross-functional teams; ideally with experience doing so in an international organization
  • Strong experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Experience directly engaging with a passionate fanbase -- preferably for an entertainment franchise, but could also be for a beloved brand
  • In-depth knowledge of social and content channels as well as emerging trends and best practices

Nice-to-haves?

  • Nice-to-have: close relationships with partnership teams at social media platforms
  • NOT required: direct experience in the gaming industry

Intangibles

  • Passion for entertainment and pop culture
  • Familiarity with gaming
  • Ability to both craft an ambitious, robust strategy and to execute it
  • Exceptional oral and written communicator
  • Consummate storyteller and a master of “narrative”
