Job Title: Color Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Color Assistant will be responsible for filling a variety of supporting roles to the colorist and providing support to produce color grading operations from ingest to delivery. Primarily they will learn new processes and maintain proficiency with evolving technical applications and trends with the company workflow. In this position they actively provide support and solutions for the colorist team.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Color Assistant will assist in preparation for projects such as setting up the project folder structure and ensure all lists and references are properly formatted. They will prep and build project for color (conformed sequence, camera selects etc). They will flag and contact production coordinator on any outstanding issues (missing media, conform issues, etc). They will check color project for issues and playback performance prior to session start and client arrival. They will communicate to artist all technical project details necessary for the artist to execute the project. They will communicate with production coordinators, artists and producers about all relevant information through out the prep, color, and post phases.
WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will bring previous experience with media/post-production industry and hands-on operator experience. They will bring problem-solving skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, and a great team player. They will have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as an exceptional eye for detail. They will have a professional level English language skill, i.e. written and verbal. They will be detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve on the fly. The ideal candidate will also bring the following:
