Job Description

As a Test Engineer at Lighthouse Games, you'll support the QA process by developing and executing test plans for their upcoming AAA title. You'll collaborate with developers, create and maintain test plans and automated tests, identify and track defects, participate in testing and debugging, contribute to quality discussions, and stay updated on testing frameworks. The role requires experience in game development QA, familiarity with testing methodologies, proficiency in bug tracking tools, and a basic understanding of programming (C++ preferred). You'll be crucial in ensuring the highest quality standards are met before release, identifying bugs early in the development cycle.

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the quality assurance process by developing and executing test plans for our upcoming AAA title. You will work closely with the development team to ensure that all features are thoroughly tested and meet the highest quality standards before release. Your main goal will be to identify bugs and issues early in the development cycle, empowering the team to deliver a polished final product.

Key Duties Include

  • Collaborate with developers to gather requirements and understand the features being developed
  • Create, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated tests
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools
  • Participate in regular testing and debugging tasks to ensure high-quality software delivery
  • Contribute to quality discussions and provide feedback to improve processes
  • Stay updated with current testing frameworks and methodologies to contribute effectively to the team
  • Support a culture of quality assurance throughout the studio

Requirements

  • Experience in Quality Assurance or testing roles within game development
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and best practices
  • Proficient in bug tracking tools and test case management software
  • Basic understanding of programming and scripting languages, particularly C++
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Passion for games and a keen eye for detail

Desirable

  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5
  • Experience in a continuous integration environment
  • Familiarity with performance and load testing
