- UAV/Drone System Specifications: Analysis of Product Requirement Documents in sync with Market Requirements, prepare and maintain Technical Specifications at UAV and Systems level, including Technology Readiness Level (TRL), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) creations etc.
- UAV/Drone System Design: Collaborate with product design and development teams to define and design UAV/drone systems that align with project objectives and client requirements. Exposure to Fundamental Aerodynamics, Materials and Process Engineering would be added advantage.
- Design Management: Expertise in CAD Tree/Layout preparations, PLM/PDM integrations with 3D CAD, 3D Model sanctity and Integration checks, BOM Configurations and Management, GD&T, Tolerance Stack up Analysis, DFMEA etc.
- Validation & Verification of Design: Skilled at planning of Validations e.g, Numerical Validations, Laboratory Testing, Flight Testing, Certifications etc.
- Component Selection and Manufacturing/Sourcing: Select appropriate hardware components, Electronic components, and software solutions for UAV/drone systems, taking into consideration factors such as payload capacity, flight time, range, endurance, and environmental conditions. Good knowledge of Manufacturing processes, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) etc.
- Integration and Testing: Integrate various hardware, electronics and software components into UAV/drone systems, ensuring compatibility, reliability, and optimal performance. Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to resolve issues.
- Software Configuration: Configure flight control systems, autopilot software, and onboard computers to ensure seamless communication and operation of the drone.
- Quality and Reliability: Develop and implement quality and reliability control processes starting with Concept Design, Development, Testing & Validations, Industrializations and Series Productions, to verify the functionality and safety of integrated UAV/drone systems.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of System Integration processes, configurations, Design and System Engineering Reviews, Validation plan vs actual, and test results to facilitate troubleshooting and future development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product management, Product marketing, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality management, software engineers, Electronics Engineers, Hardware engineers, and Project managers, to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to drone systems to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor''s degree in Aerospace engineering, Mechanical, Electrical engineering, or a related field. Master''s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in UAV/drone system integration or a related field.
- Proficiency in drone hardware and software, including flight controllers, sensors, and autopilot systems.
- Good knowledge and experience of CAD and PLM Softwares. PTC Creo and Windchill experience would be preferred.
- Familiarity with drone regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
