Job Description

The Supply Planner at Spin Master is responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory planning and procurement costs across the supply chain. This highly visible role requires balancing inventory targets, customer service levels, forecast accuracy, and safety stock. Key responsibilities include maintaining inventories, developing supply plans to reduce out-of-stocks, utilizing MRP and other tools for inventory projections, implementing inventory management strategies, assessing purchasing options for cost reduction, conducting root cause analysis for supply chain issues, and collaborating with other departments. The ideal candidate will have supply chain experience, expertise with ERP systems (especially SAP R3), strong analytical skills, and experience with data manipulation and analysis.

Job Description:

What will you work on?
The Supply Planner position is a highly visible Supply chain role that is responsible for overseeing and optimising the inventory planning and procurement cost across the supply chain network. They have the ability to balance the sometimes conflicting goals of inventory targets, target customer service levels, forecast accuracy, and safety stock requirements for the allocated portfolio of SKU’s for which he or she is assigned.

How will you create impact?

  • Responsible for maintaining inventories, developing the supply plan to reduce out of stocks across the supply chain network to increase service levels while minimizing purchasing costs and capital employed.
  • Proactively utilize MRP’s and other tools to review inventory projections supply-demand summaries to prevent potential shortages or excessive inventory and demurrage.
  • Implement and maintain inventory and material management strategies by regular review and optimization of inventory parameters and levels (e.g. reorder pt, safety stock, ABC categorization, forecast bias, etc.)
  • Ability to assess purchasing options, analyze cost reduction opportunities to optimize total spend by optimizing loads via combining various products onto a single order, pre-ordering as needed to reduce costs, controlling inventory levels to avoid additional overflow costs, adjusting hub-spoke networks as needed to reduce costs, etc.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances and define corrective action plans to avoid re-occurrence. Review out of stock situations or shortage of supply issues and recommend mitigations. Utilize exception reports to identify and correct potential out of stock issues
  • Conduct regular business and performance reviews with Demand Planning, Sales and Marketing, participation in SOP processes.
  • Identify and manage potential inventory obsolescence to minimize aged inventory and eventual write-offs
  • Check and monitor rough cut capacity plan (RCCP) and implement mitigative actions in case risks of out of stock
  • Track and reconcile weekly/monthly metrics versus established targets
  • Other ad-hoc duties assigned by Manager

The Supply Planner reports to the Senior Manager Supply Planning EU.

  • Planning and Organising: Maintain an organised, structured and efficient environment. Prioritise, multitask and plan accordingly; deliver reports and analysis on time, coming up with contingency plans when necessary.

Required Qualifications Experience:

  • Supply Chain equivalent experience in distribution or related business environment.
  • Expertise with various ERP systems within a production environment, especially SAP R3
  • Expert level of working knowledge of Excel
  • Data manipulation - including graphs, Pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.
  • Formulas / Calculation capability - development of analytical models in Excel etc.
  • Very strong analytical skills, detailed oriented
  • Ability to deal with complexity and manage ambiguity
  • Collaborative skills in resolving long and short positions in inventory
  • Drive for process improvement ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Fluency in English is a must
