As a Strategic Investment Intern at Tencent Games, you will focus on the Japanese gaming, animation, and entertainment markets. Responsibilities include market scanning and trend identification, supporting investment reviews and analysis, evaluating potential partners, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to strategic planning. You will work closely with high-caliber executives and collaborate on game-changing strategies. This internship requires strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a passion for the gaming industry. Fluency in Japanese and Mandarin is essential.

About the Hiring Team

Business Development Department is dedicated to fostering connections between Tencent and top-tier game developers worldwide, catering to a diverse network of over 100 global investment partners and developers. Our primary objective is to enhance Tencent's global presence in the internet ecosystem as well as gaming sector, identifying business prospects and supporting investment partners in achieving sustainable growth. We are actively seeking exceptional talent globally to join our dynamic team. By building a strong global talent network, we aim to strengthen and expand Tencent's partnerships with more partners worldwide while nurturing high-quality games for the market.

As a Strategic Investment Intern, you will

1. Scan and monitor Japanese markets including gaming, animation and entertainment sectors, identify emerging industry/technology trends.

2. Provide support documentation for investment review, reporting and analysis.

3. Study and evaluate potential partners, and providing support to Tencent management for business decision and management.

4. Identify new business opportunities and incubate new businesses.

5. Work in a team with high-calibre executives previously from top-tier consultancy firms and investment banks.

6. Assist in the formulation of game changing strategy and inspire out-of-the-box thinking to senior leaders.

Who We Look For

1. Students whom are currently enrolled in Bachelor/Master Program.

2. Prior internship experience in video game, strategy consulting, investment banking, PE/VC and related Internet industry

3. Demonstrate strategic visions, business insights and in-depth knowledge of the gaming/media/entertainment industry, and other related sectors (preferably a gamer!).

4. Ability in interpretation of data and identify emerging market trends and business opportunities.

5. Must be a self-starter, comfortable with uncertainty, and ability to drive to answers through disciplined work, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams.

6. Effective team players with excellent communication and interpersonal skills。

7. Proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint; working knowledge of statistics and analysis packages.

8. An avid ACGN lover and gamer!

9. Fluent in Japanese and Mandarin as working language.

10. Have an entrepreneurial spirit.
