The Staff Technical Program Manager will support Zscaler's maturing FinOps practice within the cloud operations team. Responsibilities include developing and managing cloud usage and spend reports, identifying cost optimization opportunities using tools like Cloudability; collaborating with financial and business teams on budgeting, forecasting, and analytics; working with technical and product teams to implement cost-efficient cloud services; reconciling cloud invoices; and participating in the Cloud Center of Excellence. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with cloud cost management tools, and collaboration with various teams to optimize cloud spending and improve cost awareness.
Must have:
  • 6+ years experience in Operations/Engineering/IT
  • 3+ years in Cloud FinOps and public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • US Citizenship required
Good to have:
  • Cloud strategy and reporting tool expertise
  • Public Cloud and/or FinOps certification

We're looking for an experienced Staff Technical Program Manager to join our cloud operations team and support our maturing FinOps practice. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Technical Program Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and manage cloud usage and spend reports, identifying cost trends and optimization opportunities using tools like Cloudability.
  • Collaborate with financial and business teams on budgeting, forecasting, tagging, and dashboard analytics, including opportunities for Reserved Instance purchases and savings plans.
  • Work with technical and product teams to assess business requirements and implement cost-efficient public cloud services.
  • Reconcile cloud invoices against purchase orders and manage PO creation with cloud providers.
  • Participate in the Cloud Center of Excellence, promoting data-driven decision-making and a cost-aware culture across engineering, finance, and business teams.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) 

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the customers assigned to this role.
  • Must have 6+ years total experience in Operations, Engineering, IT or related roles.
  • Must have 3+ years specific experience in Cloud FinOps and public cloud products (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, Data Analytics, or Economics.

  • Expertise in cloud strategy and reporting tools; Public Cloud and/or FinOps certification preferred.
  • Intellectually curious and proactive in seeking answers; comfortable with ambiguity and eager to learn.
  • Highly organized, action-oriented, and self-accountable; strong collaborator and team player with integrity, capable of producing high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$136,500$195,000 USD
