Responsibilities include technology delivery and sustainment, team and talent management, budget ownership, stakeholder management, opportunity identification, project management, and effective communication. The role requires extensive experience in software engineering, technical design, delivery, operations, and financial management, along with strong leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate will drive improvements to processes and technology, ensuring a high-quality guest experience.

About the Role & Team 

The position of Sr. Manager of Technology will be responsible for the team and portfolio of applications within the Guest Account Management domain.   This includes new delivery, technology currency, and sustainment operations of 40+ Cloud Based Services & Event Applications. If selected for this role, you will report to the Director of Technology for Guest Account Capabilities. 

What You Will Do 

The position will include the following duties & accountabilities: 

  • Technology Delivery & Sustainment Ownership of high volume, business critical Java-based custom applications in AWS Hosted environments. 

  • Team & Talent Management of Cast (Disney Employee) and Contractors within the Guest Account Mgmt Team.   Maintain a supportive, collaborative and constructive environment for growing high performing Individuals and Team. 

  • Financial Ownership of the allocated Budget for the Portfolio.  Including managing forecasts, actuals, and variances.    

  • Stakeholder Management across Technology, Product, and Business.   Establish and maintain relationships, with clear expectation management.  Understand challenges and proactively collaborate to resolve. 

  • Opportunity Management to identify how our portfolio can deliver on or contribute to solutions to better serve our Guests, Cast, and Business. 

  • Project Management of technology delivery for work efforts, ensuring reliability in delivery activities, dates and resource planning. 

  • Communication & knowledge sharing of portfolio capability at all levels of the organization. Effective communication with diverse audiences in a technical and non-technical manner. 

  • Drive improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team. 

Required Qualifications & Skills  

  • At least 10+ years relevant Software Engineering experience
     

  • Software Engineering Technical Design – At least 5 years of experience 

  • Software Engineering Technical Delivery – At least 5 years of experience 

  • Software Engineering Technical Operations – At least 5 years of experience 

  • Software Engineering Management – At least 5 years of experience 

  • Infrastructure Engineering Management – At least 3 years of experience 

  • Software Engineering Financial Management – At least 3 years of experience 

  • Executive Written & Verbal Communication Skills – At least 3 years of experience 

  • Experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components.  – At least 5 years of experience 

  • Experience in organizations practicing Agile best practices. – At least 3 years of experience 

Education  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field or related work experience. 


The hiring range for this position in Anaheim California is $184,300.00-$240,000.00, in Seattle Washington is $193,100.00-$250,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
