Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager at Google Cloud, you'll lead a team in building reliable, scalable, and efficient management solutions for Google Compute Engine (GCE) Enterprise customers. Responsibilities include designing and implementing subsystems, making key technical decisions, establishing engineering practices, and shaping team culture. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, influencing product strategy and working on large-scale projects across multiple international sites. This role requires significant experience in software development, technical leadership, and people management, focusing on enterprise software and services. The work involves improving workflows and enabling enterprise customers to scale their success with self-managed, compliant offerings.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience in engineering with 6 years of experience in management in the software industry.
  • Experience shipping scalable, reliable and usable infrastructure or tooling to power web-based projects.
  • Experience in Enterprise Software/Services.
  • Ability to work in a team with multiple projects, opportunities, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to motivate cross-team conversations and initiatives.

You will be working with cross team or organization partners to craft solutions and experiences to enable enterprise customers to scale the success with self-managed, compliant offerings, focusing on workflows rather than implementing solutions for just a single task.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
