As a Software Engineer III, you'll leverage your expertise in Android development and Jetpack Compose to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. You'll collaborate with peers, review code, contribute to documentation, and troubleshoot system issues. Responsibilities include overseeing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, participating in design reviews, and contributing to Android, Google's open-source mobile operating system powering billions of devices. The role requires proficiency in Kotlin and experience with data structures and algorithms.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years Android app development
  • Kotlin experience
  • Data structures and algorithms experience
  • Code review and debugging
  • Project prioritization and delivery
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in CS
  • Experience with large-scale systems
  • Experience in accessible technologies
  • Performance analysis and debugging

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience in Android application development.
  • Experience with Kotlin.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
