The ideal candidate will have experience in native Android development (Java/Kotlin), understanding of Android design principles, and ideally experience with banking or fintech apps. The position requires strong software engineering skills, collaboration abilities, and excellent communication in English. The work is done within an agile environment focused on time-boxed delivery.
Must have:

Project description

We have been engaged by a large Australian Bank to provide resources to their Mobile banking team working on a wide range of projects as part of Digital Transformation. Our client is a banking domain-based enterprise, that plans and leads IT projects in an agile working model, with a mindset around time-boxed delivery of solutions, empowerment of interdisciplinary teams, and close collaboration throughout the whole software development process.

We're looking for an experienced Android Engineer to work within the existing team who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technology to the next level.

Responsibilities

You will collaborate with backend and search ranking engineers to spec, write, test, and deploy code that integrates with real-time data streams and API endpoints.

You will brainstorm features with product managers and designers and guide decisions based on your knowledge of the codebase.

participate in the design and technical analysis of the client's Mobile Banking app.

code and ship new features to production.

work with third party data sources and APIs.

You will assist our skilled Customer Experience team in triaging bugs and solving issues in production in your primary area.

You will learn about and use new Android technologies.

You will continuously discover, evaluate, and deliver innovative technologies to maximize development efficiency.

providing the best tech solution and ensuring good adherence to best practice

partner with UX designers, architects, back-end development teams and QAE to deliver a high-quality product.

support your colleagues in maintaining their DEV environmen

Skills

Must have

Bachelor's degree in technology or related field required OR equitable experience.

Minimum 4 years of hands-on software development in native Mobile applications development on native Android (Java/Kotlin) development experience

Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines

Experience in Banking App development is preferred (If not, then any Fintech app experience is preferred)

knowledge of Version Control System (Git)

experience in test driven development, continuous Integration and Deployment

a strong software engineer with high dedication to app development

be part of a strong international team and contribute to the success of Mobile Excellence team.

a high degree of creativity by designing user-friendly application.
