Job Description

Google is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its Infrastructure team in Kraków, Poland. This role will focus on developing and maintaining large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, and networks. The ideal candidate will have experience with compute technologies, storage, and hardware architecture. Responsibilities include writing product or system development code, participating in design reviews, reviewing code developed by other developers, contributing to documentation, triaging product or system issues, and debugging and resolving issues.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Experience with software development in one or more programming languages
Experience with data structures or algorithms
Experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure
Experience with distributed systems or networks
Experience with compute technologies, storage, and/or hardware architecture

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or experience with an advanced degree.
Experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, and/or experience with compute technologies, storage, and/or hardware architecture.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
