Job Description

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Regional Isolation Insights and Tooling team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying security software, collaborating with partner teams to define requirements, and reviewing code developed by other developers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development principles, experience with security software, and a passion for innovation. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Atlanta, GA.

Must have:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
1 year of experience with software design and architecture

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
5 years of experience coding in C++, Java, Go, or Python.
3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and how security controls are applied to cloud-based technologies (e.g., identity and access management, architecture, networking, etc.)

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
5 years of experience coding in C++, Java, Go, or Python.
3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and how security controls are applied to cloud-based technologies (e.g., identity and access management, architecture, networking, etc.).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy security software (e.g., tools, libraries, and APIs) for defining, managing, and enforcing location-based access policies.
Collaborate with partner teams in Security and across Google to define requirements and to develop regional security solutions.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
