Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure at Google Cloud, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. You'll work on projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you grow. You'll contribute to existing documentation and adapt content based on product updates. You'll also triage issues and debug/track/resolve them by analyzing the sources and impact on hardware, network, or service operations.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Experience with software development in one or more programming languages
Experience with data structures/algorithms
Experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
Experience with software design and architecture
Experience developing large-scale infrastructure
Experience with distributed systems or networks
Experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field
Experience developing accessible technologies
Experience in a technical leadership role

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
Experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and with software design and architecture.
Experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, and/or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience in a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

Write and test product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
