Job Description

As an Engineering Manager for Search Verticals at Google, you'll be responsible for leading a team of engineers building features that enhance the sports vertical within Google Search. This role requires strong technical leadership and expertise in software development. You'll focus on scaling the Sports vertical, developing new features, and leveraging Google's technological advancements. You'll also be involved in product strategy, managing a large budget, and overseeing international project deployments. You'll be working on mature products with a large user base and complex technical challenges, as well as new and experimental products to meet evolving consumer needs. Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience with software development
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
2 years of experience in a people management role

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science
Experience with the Search or Knowledge Engine (KE) stack
Front-end development experience
Experience building Machine Learning (ML) models
Knowledge of Infrastructure designs and optimizations

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience with the Search or Knowledge Engine (KE) stack and Front-end development.
Experience in building Machine Learning (ML) models.
Knowledge of Infrastructure designs and optimizations.

You will help products in all stages of their lifecycle, including mature products with a massive user base and significant technical complexity, to new/experimental products in the prototype stage to cater to the evolving needs of the sports consumer.
