The Senior Publisher Experience Manager leads a global team, developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to enhance publisher experience and mitigate legal and reputational risks within the digital advertising ecosystem. This involves creating policy training materials, collaborating with Sales and Product leadership, staying updated on policy developments, engaging with stakeholders, mitigating escalations, and driving data excellence. Responsibilities include building trust, improving the user journey, and developing engaging communication materials. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
Must have:
  • 13+ years experience in relevant fields
  • 5 years in policy development/training
  • 2 years in people management
  • Develop and implement publisher experience strategy
  • Lead global policy training creation and delivery
  • Mitigate legal/regulatory risks
Good to have:
  • Master's degree or PhD
  • Experience with policy teams
  • Understanding of digital advertising
  • Strong organizational strategy development

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 13 years of experience in publisher sales/experience, content monetization, policy creation, program management, business strategy, or related fields.
  • 5 years of experience in policy development, education, or training.
  • 2 years of experience in people management, leading teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working closely with policy teams.
  • Understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective organizational strategy.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to think at a systems level.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and presentation skills, including senior leadership-level communication, and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. As a Senior Publisher Experience Manager, you will lead a global team of executive policy specialists. You will build trust in the digital advertising ecosystem and mitigate legal, reputational, and regulatory risk through the development of a robust end to end publisher experience strategy in partnership with key cross-functional leaders, enabling transparency and driving improvements throughout the user journey. As part of your team's proactive policy education strategy, you will oversee the development of engaging communication materials (e.g., one-pagers, infographics, videos, external articles, sales communications) and actively participate in both internal and external speaking engagements. You will partner with senior stakeholders across Google and mitigate escalations that pose a legal, regulatory, or reputational risk.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive publisher experience enhancement strategy including a policy education strategy. Lead the global team to create and deliver policy training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Product leadership to support safer business growth.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest policy developments. Engage with executive internal and external stakeholders to identify and address policy concerns.
  • Mitigate escalations that pose a legal, regulatory, or reputational risk and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the end to end user journey.
  • Drive data excellence within the team with well defined success metrics.
