Project description

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact projects that drive the organization's key objectives. This role is pivotal in managing cross-functional teams, aligning business goals with technical execution, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale programs, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to navigate a dynamic environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Lead and oversee large, complex projects and programs, ensuring alignment with client's strategic goals and objectives.

Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to ensure project alignment and stakeholder satisfaction.

Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

Execution and Delivery: Drive project execution, ensuring milestones are met, deliverables are completed to high standards, and value is delivered to the business.

Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, while resolving project-related issues to minimize impact on project success.

Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effectiveness while meeting financial targets.

Governance and Reporting: Provide regular status updates to executive leadership, ensuring clear communication of progress, risks, and key decisions.

Change Management: Partner with organizational change management teams to ensure successful adoption and implementation of project outcomes.

Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor and guide project team members and junior project managers, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Skills

Must have

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or MBA preferred.

Experience:

10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years managing large-scale, enterprise-level initiatives in the financial sector.

Proven success in managing projects with budgets exceeding £5 million and multi-year timelines.

Certifications:

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required.

Additional certifications such as PRINCE2, PgMP, or Agile certifications are advantageous.

Skills:

Deep expertise in project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid).

Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Clarity PPM).

Familiarity with financial services industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

Nice to have experience in Avaloq Banking Suite.
