SkyBox Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Gameplay Animator to join our growing team. As part of the Central Art department, this creative individual will be part of a collective art group that participates in unique opportunities on external IP, as well as development of internal IP. Someone who is passionate about their craft, who constantly strives to keep their work at AAA quality, and enjoys the challenge of new game environments would be a great fit for this role. 

A snapshot of your role:

    • Create high quality animations for characters and props
    • Actively participate in the construction of animation trees and state graphs
    • Collaborate closely with designers, artists and software engineers in the implementation of player mechanics
    • Implement, troubleshoot, and debug animation systems
    • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices

Sound like you? This is what we're looking for:

    • Strong proven ability to create hand keyed animations for gameplay (shown in a robust animation reel/portfolio)
    • Compelling professional gameplay animation experience with at least one AAA shipped game title
    • Outstanding grasp of the Principles of Animation and human body mechanics
    • Knowledgeable in implementing and modifying game animation systems and state graphs
    • Familiar with Maya and animation tools like AnimBot
    • Self-sufficient and resourceful, with strong communication and organisational skills
    • Comfortable receiving constructive feedback
    • Nice-to-haves:
    • Experience with FPS
    • Experience working with mocap
    • Technical animation comprehension in Unreal

    • Please note, only those who submit a portfolio of applicable gameplay animations will be considered for the role.
The base salary range is $97,000 - $133,000. The stated pay scale reflects the range that SkyBox Labs reasonably expects to pay for this position. Your base salary will be determined by various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, skills, and experience.

The studio is currently co-developing Halo Infinite, working on projects in the Minecraft universe, supporting the dev team at Bungie on Destiny 2: Lightfall, and supporting development of Fallout 76.
