Job Description

Epic Games seeks a Senior Engine Programmer to collaborate with The Walt Disney Company on a new games and entertainment universe. Responsibilities include optimizing systems for CPU, GPU, and memory; monitoring live client data and troubleshooting; deep-diving into technical challenges; acting as a subject matter expert between game developers and engine technology; and building tools to enhance developer efficiency. This role requires excellent C++ skills, experience in profiling and optimizing game development, and strong communication skills. Unreal Engine and console development experience is preferred but not required. The position offers the chance to build a persistent universe with Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, and more, allowing users to create and share their own stories and experiences.

What You'll Do

The Walt Disney Company and Epic Games are collaborating on an all-new games and entertainment universe.

Epic Games is seeking a Senior Engine Programmer to join this team. You will innovate and push the limits to deliver the best experience possible for our players. You will problem-solve performance and stability issues and guide developers in creating new industry-leading features.

In this role, you will

Improve player experience by optimizing systems for CPU, GPU, and memory
Monitor live client data, problem solving issues and make data analysis improvements along the way
Deep-dive into technical challenges where you will help to drive the vision and solutions
Act as a bridge and subject matter expert between game developers and engine technology
Build tools and workflows to enable developer efficiency and autonomy

What we're looking for

Excellent C++ skills and software programming principles
Experience profiling and optimizing in one or more areas of game development
Experience implementing and debugging large, robust systems on game or game engine technology
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English
Unreal Engine and console development experience preferred but not required

This role is open to multiple locations across North America and Europe (including CA & WA).
