We are currently seeking a Senior Compliance Advisor, Customs Operation - to be based in Hamburg, Germany.

As a Senior Compliance Advisor at Maersk, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to compliance and understand legal requirements, as well as internal work processes, to minimize risk for Maersk - through regulatory and customer requirements. You will be well acquainted with strategy at a Customs Operation level with a particular focus on the Customs Compliance business in the area and be able to run both internal and external projects. 

Responsibilities include:

Listed below are some of the key responsibilities of this role. However, we work in an Agile environment and this is a superb opportunity for you to carve this role for yourself:

  • Monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring implementation in the organization.
  • Participate and carry out external and internal audits
  • Propose, participate, and lead customs related projects
  • Business intelligence.
  • Assist and develop in-house training
  • Support the Customs Operations organization as a subject matter expert
  • Work actively with risk management and report deviations
  • Support the Country Compliance Manager in the Area
  • Initiating and/or attending meetings with customers and authorities
  • Monitor and follow up on customs claims on a country level

  • You have experience and competence within the Customs business
  • You are an experienced Compliance Advisor
  • You are able to develop internal tools for Compliance
  • You have experience in communicating with authorities
  • You have participated/lead in certifications/audits of quality assurance programs (AEO, ISO, etc.)
  • You support the Quality Control Audit Process
  • Support the Customs Transit Process
  • and you are able to deal with appeals and statements to authorities
  • Assist the organization with the adaptation and implementation of internal procedures
