Maersk seeks a Customs Broker fluent in German to provide reliable and efficient service to clients at the lowest cost. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting customs documents (import/export/transit), ensuring accurate data entry, staying updated on regulations (Union Customs Code), meeting KPIs, and resolving operational issues. This role involves interacting with stakeholders like warehouses, trucking companies, and authorities. The ideal candidate possesses experience in job costing, documentation, invoicing, and dispute handling, demonstrates strong administrative skills and attention to detail, and thrives in an agile environment. Relevant customs experience/certification is a plus.
Must have:

We are looking for a Customs Broker to join our successful team, who will provide the most reliable and efficient service to our customers at the lowest possible cost. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement a strategy to create customisable solutions based on customer needs, while maintaining standard product offerings. You will have the pride of providing the highest level of customer satisfaction while complying with regulations of authorities and laws.

Please note: To be successful in this role you will need fluent German speaking, reading and writing skills.

What is your day-today?

Listed below are some of the key responsibilities of this role. However, we work in an Agile environment, making this a superb opportunity for you to carve this role for yourself!

  • Prepare and submit all necessary documents and registrations for the client’s cargoes to customs. (Import / Export / Transit)
  • Ensure correct, timely and accurate data entries in all systems
  • Continuously staying up-to-date with changing local procedures and regulations, especially ensure handling according to the Union Customs Code (Unionszollkodex)
  • Meeting the agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Assist in solving daily operational issues; interacting with the various stakeholders: warehouse, trucking companies, surveyors, authorities, company colleagues and the customers

  • Experience with Job Costing, Documentation, Invoicing, Dispute Handling
  • Ability to work in daily operations with meetings, safety standards, ensuring proper documentation and regulations are used at all times.
  • Growth mindset, ability to learn and adapt
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Relevant customs experience/certification is an asset
  • To be successful in this role you will need fluent German speaking, reading and writing skills.
