Job Description

This Senior Business Analyst role involves building a team to meet regulatory requirements for a US-based investment bank. The project is new and uses existing customer technology. Responsibilities include requirement gathering, system analysis, developing functional/technical specifications, data mapping and validation using ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Talend), creating transformation rules for XML and relational data, documenting requirements and workflows, assisting with JIRA stories, maintaining stakeholder relationships, working with complex system infrastructure, and ensuring business needs are met by development teams. Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches is required.

Must have:

6+ years experience in System/Business Analysis
Strong SQL knowledge
Data mapping & validation experience
ETL tool familiarity (e.g., SSIS, Talend)
XML, JSON, CSV understanding
SDLC knowledge
User needs analysis & functional specifications
Non-functional requirements documentation
REST, queues, and integration methods
Proficiency in visualization tools (Visio, Draw.io)

Good to have:

Murex experience

Project description

As a part of our growing cooperation with a small and well organized US based Investment Bank we are building a team to deliver on a set of regulatory requirements.

Project to be built from scratch by one agile team, based on technology already used by customer.

Responsibilities

Requirement gathering, system analysis, and development of functional and technical specifications

Analyzing and improving existing data mappings and creating new mappings

Using an ETL tool and rule engine to create transformation rules for XML and relational data

Partnering with business teams to document requirements and workflows for new developments clearly

Assisting in writing JIRA stories for workstreams as needed

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business stakeholders

Delving into complex system infrastructure

Working with development teams to ensure business needs are met

Skills

Must have

6+ years of proven experience in System and Business Analysis or similar roles

Strong knowledge of SQL

Hands-on experience in data mapping and validation

Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Informatica, Pentaho, or similar)

Comprehensive understanding of data formats: XML, JSON, CSV

Strong knowledge of the SDLC

Proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and translating user needs into functional specifications

Expertise in identifying, documenting, and validating non-functional requirements

Familiarity with data exchange methods: REST, queues, and other integration mechanisms

Proficiency in visualization tools (e.g., Visio, Draw.io, or similar) to create comprehensive diagrams and process flows

Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches

Nice to have

Hands-on experience with Murex
