Job Summary:

Are you naturally curious with an eye for the big picture? Disney Entertainment is seeking a Senior Analyst, Business Operations to serve an integral role in working with the Disney Entertainment content acquisition, content programming, content scheduling, FAST programming, FAST distribution, and finance teams to help manage key aspects of the P&L for our linear entertainment networks - Disney Channel, Freeform, FX Networks, and National Geographic. Key responsibilities include updating and communicating to leadership financial results of acquisition and FAST businesses, monthly forecast/close processes, conducting industry analyses, maintaining financial models, and providing timely guidance on P&L impacts of relevant scenarios/initiatives. The role requires analytical ability, financial experience, and a curiosity to problem-solve while working in a collaborative cross-functional environment. As the Senior Analyst, you will support ad-hoc and recurring financial analyses, contribute to executive reporting, support recurring deliverables, and partner with segment finance teams to manage budgets efficiently.

You will be a versatile problem-solver with an intellectual curiosity geared towards the media industry and capable of providing meaningful analytical conclusions to aid in the management of the networks business. A key component of the role will require skills in communication and fostering relationships across the organization, while being able to succinctly provide insights and actionable recommendations for various audiences, including senior leadership. In addition, the key skills needed to succeed in this role include strong quantitative ability with attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a dynamically changing and ambiguous environment, strong written/verbal skills, and a commitment to teamwork. This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Business Operations, Disney Entertainment Networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct recurring analyses around content acquisition opportunities and scenarios, providing guidance on relevant impacts to P&Ls and content strategy
  • Collaborate with finance teams to accurately track spending, update forecasting, and identify opportunities & risks to the relevant segment P&Ls
  • Effectively act as a liaison between scheduling and acquisition teams, overseeing communication, distributing information, and maintaining relevant documents for all interested parties
  • Provide timely reporting updates to senior leadership of relevant acquisition initiatives, such as deal terms, financial impacts, and changes to content needs
  • Act as key contact for acquisitions team to help contribute to analyses and coordinate information to programming/scheduling side of the business
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic insight into the performance results of the FAST business on a recurring basis
  • Contribute to forecasting process around FAST business, collaborating closely with research and finance teams
  • Develop industry-level research, cultivate relevant insights, highlight key trends, and provide actionable strategic recommendations for leadership to enhance FAST initiatives
  • Contribute to recurring reporting of business results of the Disney Entertainment segment, including FAST, programming, content, and performance results
  • Provide insight and guidance as part of monthly financial forecasting process, working in tandem with segment finance teams
  • Craft ad-hoc summaries, presentations, analyses, and other communications for senior leadership
  • Develop a key role in forecast, budgeting, and LRP processes with particular emphasis on the acquisition needs of the entertainment networks

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in business operations, finance, and/or strategy roles, preferably within media
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical skills, preferably with experience in building financial models
  • Ability to work cross functionally, collaborating with multiple teams in a diverse array of functional areas
  • Strong sense of organization and the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives
  • A keen dedication to attention to detail while still working quickly and efficiently to move forward business initiatives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to cater messages to multiple audiences, including senior leadership
  • Ability to adapt while working in a flexible, fast-paced, and ever-changing business environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience


The hiring range for this position in New York, New York is $108,500.00 to $145,400.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
