Position Overview
The Resource Manager is a trusted advisor and staffing partner to our business leaders. The Resource Manager is responsible for executing on all staffing processes, liaising, and providing advisory support on customer requests and inquiries, to ensure optimum project matches are made and utilization targets are achieved. This role is at the center of a dynamic and demanding environment and will work closely with project managers and functional leads globally to assign project resources, balance workloads, and adjust schedules and assignments as project timing shifts and/or new projects start. This requires critical thinking and creative solutions, as each staffing decision must be made in consideration of the business needs, project requirements and the development of our consultants.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with Project, Consulting and Customer Success Management team during and after sales process to understand the resource demand to develop project staffing plans
Works diligently to match the right consultants from a global resource pool to the right projects
Optimize utilization across the assigned Service Lines by making strategic staffing recommendations and decisions
Proactively identifies and resolves staffing conflicts to the satisfaction of all parties, which may include identifying creative staffing alternatives and negotiating with Project Managers and Consultants
Escalates sensitive or high-risk staffing situations to the Managers or Geo Director as appropriate.
Proactively reviews and analyzes staffing positions to provide meaningful insights on trends, forecast, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern. Provides regular updates to management and executive leadership in a confident and influential manner
Advocates for teams and team members while managing the needs and expectations of stakeholders involved in projects
Supports Resource Managers in the geos in filling their open resource requests by proposing candidates and responding to requests for information promptly
Contributes to the ongoing improvement of the Global Resource Management Practice and leads related initiatives
Clearly communicates policies and procedures related to time tracking, work planning and skills capturing
Provides process governance that support the RM function such as forecasting, time entry and other internal indicators related to the capacity and capability of the team
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of experience as Resource Manager
Ability to interact, communicate and build relationships with all levels of leadership
Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to negotiate and influence others in stressful and sensitive situations
Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams
Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
RMCP - Certification as a plus
