Quality Control Chemist

Objective of the Position

The QC Chemist is responsible for performing analytical testing of in-process and final samples from the plant, ensuring safety and quality in raw material transfers, and supporting product integrity through accurate sample analysis. This role involves laboratory work, including equipment calibration and troubleshooting, as well as maintaining and organizing samples. The QC Chemist will also interact with various departments, including R&D and other Buckman plants, and is required to learn and adhere to laboratory protocols that support plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze in-process and final samples from the plant to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Conduct safety checks by unlocking and locking raw material tanks in the plant, serving as a secondary safeguard to prevent mis-transfers.
  • Analyze samples from external sources, including R&D, field operations, and other Buckman plants.
  • Learn to calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Collect samples from the warehouse or Tech Services Sample room as needed.
  • Manage the organization, storage, and recycling of samples in the retain room.
  • Enter data and analysis results into Macroview and SAP systems for proper documentation.
  • Develop an understanding of the lab’s products and protocols to effectively support plant operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, or related)
