The Disney Decision Science & Integration (DDSI) team seeks a Project Manager to oversee the annual Disney Data & Analytics Conference (DDAC) at Walt Disney World Resort. Responsibilities include developing and managing the project schedule, coordinating logistics, preparing status updates, leading communications with partners and vendors, managing sponsorship sales, and building relationships with internal/external stakeholders. The role requires strong project management skills, experience with large-scale corporate events, and excellent communication abilities. The successful candidate will ensure the conference's successful execution, aligning with DDSI's mission to leverage data and analytics across Disney's various business units.

Job Summary:

The Disney Decision Science & Integration (DDSI) team provides internal consulting services for clients across The Walt Disney Company including Disney Experiences, Disney Entertainment (e.g., ABC, The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Theatrical, etc.), ESPN (ESPN Networks, ESPN+), and Corporate. Roles within the organization develop, analyze, and execute strategies to maximize profitability and improve the value proposition for our Guests, Cast Members, and Shareholders.

In DDSI, we sit at the intersection of business strategy, advanced analytics, and technology integration to help our partners explore opportunities for analytics, shape business decisions, and drive value. We are responsible for crafting and teaching courses in data science to other businesses across the Company, as well as broadly sharing general data and analytics knowledge at the Company’s annual Disney Data & Analytics Conference (DDAC).

Our team within DDSI is seeking to fill a Project Manager role to project manage the operations and logistics for the annual Disney Data & Analytics Conference (DDAC) at Walt Disney World Resort (WDW). In this role, you will be responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and on-site execution of the event.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of the project schedule for DDAC, monitor progress, and identify relevant issues and risks

  • Ensure appropriate meetings are scheduled for all stages of the development cycle for DDAC

  • Prepare status updates and presentations

  • Assist with the development of metrics to assess and track effectiveness of DDAC’s goals and workstreams

  • Lead messaging and communications to DDAC partners and vendors

  • Assist with management of sponsorship sales, including contract management and responding to sponsor inquiries

  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure successful delivery of projects

  • Support planning, development and execution of DDAC communication plans

  • Research and provide cause of change for variance to project and workstream milestones

  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and efficiencies within project teams

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where independent judgement may be needed to prioritize tasks

  • Stay informed of industry trends, best practices and other information beneficial to the role and leverage that knowledge to improve projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of demonstrated event management experience or leadership on a project

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with a diverse set of clients and partners of varying job levels

  • Prior experience working in a matrixed organization where the ability to influence others is critical to individual and team success

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated keen attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Prior experience planning large-scale corporate events

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and collaboration sites

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management certification(s)

  • Experience working with highly analytical teams

  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment and manage multiple priorities

  • Experience with Adobe creative suite or other graphics programs

  • Extensive knowledge of the Smartsheet platform

  • Familiarity of Disney business domain knowledge

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
