Project Engineer – SSNA Build Support - Submarines

Full Time

Barrow based.

The SSNA Programme has an exciting opportunity for a R-R Project Engineer to work alongside BAES to get the Shipyard ready for building and testing the SSNA Reactor plant.

This is a unique role that only occurs as we approach the start of a First of Class submarine build programme.

Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location.  It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.

The role supports flexible working, with an expectation that the successful candidate can spend at least 2-days per week in the Shipyard.

What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to be involved with the following:

• Manage the integration of BAES dependencies into the R-R SSNA programme of work.
• Develop and progress SSNA build and test opportunities.
• Report the status of dependencies and BAES readiness for build and test, into the R-R SSNA programme.
• Maintain alignment of R-R on-site effort within the build support control account.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

• Practical experience of project management, which includes an understanding of how dependencies are managed within a baselined plan.
• Familiar with Primavera P6 and SAP planning tools.
• Capable of compiling and presenting programme management information.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of change and opportunity management processes.
• Prior experience of working with stakeholders both within R-R Submarines and external bodies is desirable.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
