As a Program Manager, Transformation and Operations Excellence at Google, you'll lead and mentor a team in delivering high-impact programs improving operational efficiency and quality across the Geo team. This involves leveraging data analytics to identify improvement opportunities, track progress, and measure impact. You'll lead innovation and adoption of best practices in program management and process excellence. Responsibilities include building and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, and communicating program strategies and results to executive leadership. The role requires managing multi-disciplinary projects, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage schedules, identify risks, and communicate effectively across teams and time zones. The Geo team aims to build the most accurate and comprehensive maps for billions of users monthly.
Must have:
  • 10+ years program/project management experience
  • 7+ years leadership experience
  • Lead and mentor a team of program managers
  • Data analysis and process improvement expertise
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Good to have:
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects
  • Experience with AI/ML, automation, and advanced technologies
  • Knowledge of quality management principles (Six Sigma, Lean)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 7 years of experience in a leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in AI/ML, automation, and advanced technologies to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Experience in quality management principles, methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean), and tools.

The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of program managers to deliver high-impact programs that improve operational efficiency, enhance quality, and optimize processes across the team.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement, track progress, and measure the impact of quality and efficiency programs on key metrics.
  • Lead innovation and the adoption of industry best practices in program management and process excellence within the team.
  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of program managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and growth.
  • Communicate program strategies, progress, and results to executive leadership and key stakeholders, advocating for the quality and efficiency function within the team.
