The Program Manager at Google will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage schedules, identify risks, and communicate across teams. This role involves coordinating multiple teams across different locations and time zones. Responsibilities include feature planning, prioritization, and operations for engineering, product, and user design teams; establishing programs and projects; designing success metrics; managing resources, risks, and priorities; interfacing with other teams; developing strategic plans; and managing stakeholder expectations. The focus is on SAGE Local and Vertical Launchpad projects within Google Ads, impacting user experience and advertiser value.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years program/project management experience
  • 2 years software development & program execution experience
  • Lead complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • Manage resources, risks, and priorities
  • Develop strategic plans and manage stakeholder expectations
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Experience in online advertising
  • Excellent leadership skills

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience with software development and managing execution of programs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with managing execution of technical programs for the online advertising industry or related industry.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems in a fluid environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills to motivate and inspire teams.

The SAGE Program Management team is looking for a Program Manager (PgM) who can help lead engineering-focused projects in a highly complex technical problem space. We operate at a large scale and are focused on designing and building solutions that generate a huge impact on user experience, and provide significant value for our advertisers.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the development and execution of feature planning, prioritization and operations in your product area for engineering, product and user design teams.
  • Establish the necessary programs and one-off projects for the team to plan and execute in order for the product area to be successful. Design success metrics and measure progress of annual Objectives and Key Results(OKRs).
  • Manage day-to-day resource requirements, risks, and priorities. Interface with other product and engineering teams within Ads to develop actionable execution plans.
  • Develop and deliver strategic plans for executive audiences, as well as execute internal operational processes at scale. Evaluate team progress and risks in order to manage executive stakeholder expectations.
