Job Description

PrizePicks seeks a Product Designer II to focus on progression and loyalty programs across its platform. Responsibilities include partnering with stakeholders to design innovative progression systems, creating intuitive user journeys, iterating on designs based on user feedback and A/B testing, designing scalable UI/UX patterns, leveraging research to inform design decisions, acting as a thought leader on gamification, collaborating with engineers for seamless implementation, and bringing designs to life with animations. The ideal candidate will have 4-7+ years of experience in product design, ideally in video games or sports gaming, a strong portfolio showcasing data-informed design solutions, and experience with native mobile app design. Strong animation skills and experience with Rive are preferred.

We are seeking an experienced Product Designer to join our product design team at PrizePicks with a focus on progression and loyalty within all verticals of the PrizePicks ecosystem.  This role brings together mechanics from video games and fantasy sports experience to drive player retention and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing for optimization, user experience, and business impact. You’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to ideate, prototype, and ship experiences that surprise and delight our players, motivating them to consolidate their play with us. Your work will directly impact how we attract and retain passionate sports fans while ensuring an enjoyable and seamless experience across our platform.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with product managers, marketers, and other key stakeholders to create designs for innovative progression systems that enhance player experiences
  • Create intuitive, data-driven designs that optimize the end-to-end user journey, including onboarding, retention, and re-engagement flows.
  • Iterate rapidly on designs and prototypes based on user feedback and A/B testing outcomes.
  • Design and test scalable, flexible, and reusable UI/UX patterns that align with our brand while driving key business metrics.
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative research to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Act as a thought leader and advocate for integrating gamified elements across our products and across the organization, communicating your design rationale to stakeholders clearly and persuasively.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure seamless implementation of your designs and adherence to best practices.
  • Bring designs and experiences to life with animations (experience with Rive is preferred) to add polish and elevate the user experience

What you have:

  • 4-7+ years of experience in product design, ideally focused on video games, sports gaming, or other products that tie together diverse, multi-product ecosystems in ways that drive player retention and loyalty
  • Strong portfolio showcasing, creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, data-informed design solutions and measurable business impact.
  • Knowledge of designing multi-product ecosystems that drive player engagement and loyalty
  • A deep understanding of growth metrics, user behavior, and design’s role in driving acquisition, retention, and monetization.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills that inspire cross-functional teams and drive focus and alignment.
  • Experience in native mobile app design with a solid understanding of patterns and standards from Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Google’s Material Design, as well as  contributions to a design system. 
  • Strong animation skills, with experience using tools like Rive to create dynamic, engaging, and interactive designs that elevate the user experience.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills, able to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to stakeholders.
  • A detail-oriented and iterative approach to problem-solving, leveraging research and testing to refine solutions.
  • Humility, emotional intelligence, low ego, and ability to thrive in environments where 0-1 thinking and navigating ambiguity is required.
