As a Product Design Engineer Intern, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of electronics at Google. You will collaborate with a team to create innovative and harmonious designs that balance comfort, performance, and aesthetics. You will be involved in various aspects of the design process, including conceptualization, prototyping, and scaling. You will work closely with engineers and designers to ensure that the final product meets Google's high standards for quality and user experience. You will be exposed to a dynamic and challenging environment, working on cutting-edge technologies and products that impact millions of users worldwide.
Must have:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Product Design, or a related technical field.
  • Internship experience, work experience, educational, or personal project experience with product design, or with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., PTC Creo, ProE, or Unigraphics NX) and mechanical simulation tools.
  • Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
  • In their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Unigraphics NX/Teamcenter with proficiency in CAD, tolerance analysis, and structural finite element analysis.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design of plastic and metal components, printed circuit boards (PCB) and flexible printed circuits (FPC), and acoustics used in consumer electronic products.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical assemblies, manufacturing techniques, fabrication techniques, and rapid prototyping.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $79,500-$106,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
